Terms of service

Last updated 3 August 2026

These terms describe how the Restaurant Web platform is operated today. They are a plain-language statement of what the software does, not legal advice, and they are pending review by our lawyers.

1. What the service is

Restaurant Web is ordering software for restaurants. A restaurant (the “operator”) gets a menu, an ordering page, an operator dashboard and a kitchen display. Diners (“customers”) place orders through that page. We host and run the software; the restaurant prepares and fulfils the food.

2. Getting an account

Accounts are created by our team, not by self-service signup. A restaurant tells us about itself, we set up its tenant, domain, menu and locations, and we issue operator logins. We may decline or discontinue an account.

3. The restaurant’s responsibilities

  • Menu accuracy — prices, allergens, availability and opening hours shown to customers come from what the operator enters in the dashboard.
  • Fulfilment — accepting, preparing, and delivering or handing over orders, and handling refunds, complaints and food-safety obligations.
  • Account security — keeping operator and point-of-sale logins to the staff who need them.
  • Complying with the law that applies to selling food where the restaurant trades.

4. The customer’s side of an order

An order placed through the platform is a contract between the customer and the restaurant. We pass the order to the restaurant and send order notifications; we are not the seller of the food.

5. Prices and money

All amounts shown are calculated and stored in the smallest currency unit (whole cents), so what a customer sees is what the restaurant’s dashboard shows for the same order. Commercial terms between us and a restaurant are agreed in writing when the account is set up; this page does not set them.

6. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload or probe the platform, place orders you do not intend to pay for, submit other people’s personal data through our forms, or use the service to send unsolicited messages. Public endpoints (the ordering flow, contact and onboarding forms) are rate-limited, and we may block traffic that abuses them.

7. Content and branding

A restaurant keeps ownership of the menu text, photographs, logo and colours it uploads, and grants us the right to store, resize and display them for the purpose of running its ordering surfaces. We keep ownership of the platform itself.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service running continuously and deploy changes without downtime, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we perform maintenance that can briefly interrupt ordering.

9. Ending the relationship

A restaurant can ask us to close its account at any time and to export its data first — see the privacy policy. We may suspend an account for non-payment, for abuse of the platform, or where continuing would put customers at risk.

10. Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Material changes affecting operators are sent to the contact address on the account.
